Vajpayee seeks another term

The Prime Minister asked voters to give the NDA another five years for it to develop the nation into a developed one. He said the Samajwadi Party govt in UP had neglected roads, hospitals and schools, even though the Centre had given the state enough money.

He was addressing a rally in Ghaziabad. The Prime Minister, however, did not rule out the possibility of many parties joining hands after the elections. "Saab ko saath lekar chalna hoga (all of us will have to work together)," he said.

He said the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh had neglected roads, hospitals and schools, even though the Centre had given the state enough money.

He offered more reservation to Dalits and other sops for farmers.

Expressing his unhappiness over state of affairs in Ghaziabad, Vajpayee said the mayor and the local MLA will have to do a better job.
