It seems to be the season of devotionals for Telugu stars. After Nagarjuna as 'Sri Ramadasu', Venkatesh is to play Hathiram Baba, a revered saint.
The Baba, who lived 400 years ago, played dice with god, said a source. The saint is also known for constructing shelters and laying roads for pilgrims.
The period film will reportedly be scripted by one of the brothers of well-known writer Vijayendra Prasad.
