As Delhi gears up to protest against blaming of rape victim, right-wing watchdogs are already up in arms against the 'Besharmi Morcha'.

Desi chapter of the global SlutWalk movement, Delhi SlutWalk Arthaat Besharmi Morcha has received bouquets and brickbats for the initiative. But this is the first instance when a right-wing organisation has issued a threat.

"Agar nangapan, besharmi had par karti hain (if indecency and shamelessness cross limits), they will have to face the consequences," said Vinod Bansal, media coordinator of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

"SlutWalk Delhi arthaat Besharmi Morcha has been initiated as a movement to address the issue of unequal, unfair and stereotyped treatment of women in society and how the treatment further manifests into different forms of sexual violations. For years, language and derogatory slang have been used to shame women, to instruct them on how they should behave and what they shouldn’t do. This is what words like 'besharam' and ‘slut' do. They shame an independent woman into conforming to repressive societal norms," declares the mission statement of Delhi Slutwalk chapter. Click here to visit their newly launched website
