CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan today did not meet former chief secretary Vijay Singh who had sought time, presumably to explain his position vis-à-vis the affidavit goof-up in the ICD scam.

Vijay Singh, who was removed from the chief secretary’s post on Saturday, had sought an appointment with the Chief Minister early in the morning. But the CM asked him to come in the evening since he was busy then.

In the evening, the Chief Minister was in the Mantralaya till 9 pm and Singh was supposed to call on him in this duration. But that did not happen. The Chief Minister later left to attend a marriage reception.

Meanwhile, sources in bureaucracy indicated that Vijay Singh might proceed on long leave if his attempts to go to the Centre fail to materialise.

Union Secretary, Ayurveda & Indian Medicine Uma Pillay is retiring on January 31 and as of now it could be the last chance for Vijay Singh to get that assignment and leave the State where he had been all-powerful Chief Secretary till the other day
