Virender Sehwag
joy-sehwag

Virender Sehwag, the 22-year-old opener from Najafgarh, has captured India's imagination this year with his explosive shots and a do-or-die attitude. The best of Sehwag came to the fore during the Indo-Pak series earlier this year. A record 309 at Multan - the only triple-century by an Indian in Test history, coming soon after a swashbuckling 195 at Melbourne against Australia has ensured his name in the annals of Indian cricket history.
He was the only batsman to score a century -- 155 at Chennai -- in India's 2-1 Test series loss to Australia. In the first Test against South Africa, he stood out with an explosive 164. Always unruffled and unfazed, the unconventional Sehwag has truly emerged from the shadow of his hero Sachin Tendulkar to carve a niche for himself.
