After 24 hours of its launch, the site was visited by very few people as most tried the usual default address of adding three Ws. However, after contacting IT manager from CMC Ltd, the company which made the website, the exact address was known.
The Ardh Kumbh mela site was launched on Thursday by Chief Secretary Naveen Chandra Bajpai.
The home page of the site has been made as attractive as possible with providing access to all the relevant information.
The map of the mela site gives the information regarding the existing roads, bridges, pontoon bridges, vehicle entry and exit, Jal police, entry for pedestrians and details of the hospitals.
There is also a 'lost and found' page which is a link on the home page. Entire information regarding the significance of Tirthraj Prayag has been given in it.
The history of Kumbh fair has been given separately with its astrological importance. Even the budget allocation in the management of mela has been shown. The phone numbers of all the important officials associated with Ardh Kumbh and numbers of other officials of the district has been mentioned in the site under 'utility service'.
An interesting 'photo gallery' has also been provided which has the photos related to the city and the fair and also the tourist spots.
Detailed information regarding the railways, airways and roadways is there. The information of the nearby tourist spots has also been mentioned.
"The site is an exhuastive one and it has most of the information. The project was undertaken by UP Department of Electronics and the site was made by CMC Ltd.," said JN Yadav, Additional District Information Officer. There was a committee of three members comprising JN Yadav, Mayur Maheshwari, SDM Sadar, , and Praveen Singh from CMC Ltd under whose supervision the site was developed as they were entitled to provide all the information.
