The Oberois had been in Cuddalore since last week to adopt the fishing hamlet of Thevanampattinam, but were told that they would have to get the state government's consent.
Following this, Oberoi and his team started to set up about 200 temporary thatched huts with the permission of District Collector Gagandeep Singh Bedi.
The team put up 50 sheds on Wednesday.
Suresh Oberoi told the agency on Wednesday that electricity connection was being provided to huts.
Repair works of damaged buildings and family healthcare programme would be taken up. Funds would not be a constraint for taking up relief measures, he added.
