A CULTURAL troupe from Arunachal Pradesh will present cultural programmes at Ganesh Hall, Rajwada, under the aegis of Lok Sanskriti Manch and Vivekanand Kendra, Indore branch, at 5.00 pm on January 6.

The Vivekanand Yuva Mahamandal will conduct various sports and cultural competitions in schools from January 12. Mahamandal president R S Bhatia told reporters here today that these programmes would be organised to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand in the form of National Youth Week.

Speech, debate, GK and other contests would be held at school level. The Youth Week would be inaugurated with competitions in the schools of Manglia area on January 12. Nehru Yuva Kendra convener Sunil Pandey will be the chief guest of the programme. The celebrations will continue for a week. Awareness programmes for youth will be conducted in more than 50 schools of Indore district.

HTC Mhow adds: Swami Vivekanand Vichar Manch of Mhow will also organise week-long Vivekanand anniversary celebrations from January 6 to 12. Manch president Jitendra Sharma said that the week would be celebrated as ‘Youth Week’, since Swami Vivekanand was a personality who inspired youth of the country.

He said that competitions in drawing, essay writing, debate, general knowledge and marathon race would be held during these celebrations.

The subject of the drawing competition is ‘My Mhow’ while that of essay writing is ‘Relevance of Vivekanand’s thoughts in the present context’. The subject of the debate is ‘is it justified to keep friendly relations with Pakistan’ and the marathon race is named ‘Rashtriya Swabhiman race’.

The programmes will commence with the drawing competition that will start at 11 am at the Cantonment garden and will conclude on January 12 with the prize distribution ceremony.
