Singh made the comments in a lighter vein, while briefing the media about the rescue operation, on Tuesday.

Singh is camping in Djibouti and visited Yemen’s capital Sanaa to oversee the evacuation.

After attending national day function at Pakistan high commission in New Delhi, the general tweeted with the hastag disgust and duty, raising a controversy.

Singh, a former army chief was representing the government at the function.

He stayed for 15 minutes at the reception on a day India and Pakistan sparred over Hurriyat leaders’ meeting Pakistani high commissioner Abdul Basit with New Delhi making it clear that there was no role for third party mediation.
