VNN staff protest against colleagues? suspension

It may be mentioned the VNN employees had gheraoed City Commissioner SN Srivastava against transfer and suspension of some of their colleagues here on Thursday.
Srivastava had suspended eight VNN employees and ordered for an inquiry for
impeding official work on Thursday. The eight VNN employees who were placed under suspension included Amarnath Prasad, Pavan Singh, Manoj Kumar, Javed Akhtar, Diwakar Dwivedi, Radheshyam Singh, Gulam Aulia and Sitaram.
Srivastava said those VNN employees who had hampered official work had been
suspended.
The employees under the banner of Nagar Nigam Karmachari Sangh and Sanyukt Karmchari Parishad staged a dharna at VNN in support of their demands.
Employee leader Manoj Kumar said Srivastava’s action on suspension was ‘dictatorial’ whereas the VNN employees were staging a peaceful protest in support of various demands.
He said instead of considering their pending demands, Srivastava took action against the employee leaders to crush their ongoing agitation.
Kumar said they would continue their protest till their demands were fulfilled.
He added they would launch a massive protest and consider boycotting official work in case the VNN authorities did not consider their demands including withdrawal of suspension order.
President of Nagar Nigam Karmachari Sangh, KK Pandey, general secretary of the sangh, Manoj Kumar, Krishna Mohan Bhatnagar, Pawan Kumar Singh, Amarnath Prasad and Pradeep Pathak were among others who participated in the dharna.
