Vote TDP out: Reddy
Urging people to throw out the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh, senior Congress leader Dr YS Rajsekhara Reddy on April 15 said if voted to power the party would work for the benefit of the masses.
"Congress would announce a special package for protecting the age old anchorage port here and also for thousands of fishermen families dependent on it," said Reddy, who has embarked on the second phase of his 'Jaitra Yatra' from Tuni in east Godavari district yesterday.
Alleging that the TDP government has privatised the Kakinada port to help multinational companies, Reddy said Congress would review the entire port privatisation issue if it comes to power.
Highlighting the "misrule" of the TDP government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu, he exhorted people to vote Congress to power as it was 'determined to help the poor'.
Mallipudi Mangapathi Pallamraju, former MP who is Congress candidate for the Kakinada Parliamentary seat, is travelling alongwith Reddy besides the candidates of the respective assembly segments in the constituency.
Before starting his Yatra at V Nagaram, the native place of Finance Minister Yenumula Ramakrishnudu near Tuni yesterday, Reddy addressed a press conference where he projected 30 'scams' of TDP government and its leader.
From V Nagaram, he moved on to Thondangi, Kothapalli, Pithapuram and reached Kakinada.
Earlier, in the first phase - spread over nine days - he had covered 64 assembly segments.
