VP: March aims to change system

He laid stress on the need for amendment to the constitution and making it mandatory that without consent of farmers the land should not be acquired by State. He even said that whenever the Jan Morcha would come to power, he would make such legislation.
Delivering his views at a public meeting after launching the march, VP Singh demanded farmer-oriented economic policies to provide them relief from debt and to ensure employment to the youths.
Singh claimed that he was not interested in any post and launched the movement only for the welfare of farmers and the unemployed youths. He criticised Mulayam Singh-led government for acquiring precious agriculture land to benefit the capitalist and termed it as grave injustice against farmers.
Continuing his offensive, Singh said the Jan Morcha would not allow acquisition of land.
Expressing his shock over the starvation death reports in Kushinagar district and other parts of the country Singh, suggested that a separate department should be constituted for survey of the reports and ensure immediate help to the suffering families. He even said that the Jan Morcha would ensure it whenever it would come to come.
Criticising the Mulayam Singh-led government, national president of Jan Morcha Raj Babbar said that Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was working like a guard for the capitalists. He said acquisition of land in Kushinagar and other places was a conspiracy to get benefit.
Condemning the unemployment allowance scheme, Babbar said 5 lakh posts were lying vacant in many departments but the State Government was not ready to provide the job to the educated youths.
Terming the unemployment allowance as a childish act, he said that it was necessary to dislodge the present State Government. He also highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in the State. Babbar was accompanied by state secretary of Jan Morcha Ramashish Rai, MP Baleshwar Yadav, national president of NLP Hafiz Arshad Khan and many others.
