Officials in Lucknow confirmed the suspension of ward boy, Ayub, and transfer of CMS, Dr Shishir Kumar, on Thursday — a day after the director general of family welfare, Dr Chiranjilal, conducted a probe.

The hospital staff, however, came out in support of the CMS, even assaulting mediapersons.

The controversy erupted three days ago, when ward boy Ayub Khan was caught on camera stitching up and administering injections in the presence of the CMS and other doctors.
