Hosts Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh are in a fix as their Elite Group B Ranji Trophy match, beginning here on Wednesday, has run into bad weather. Light but continuous drizzle since Tuesday morning made things difficult for the teams as the practice pitches at the Green Park Stadium were unplayable.

"Let's see what happens tomorrow," said UP skipper, Mohd Kaif. "We had our plans for HP, but now everything depends on the weather. Still, we aren't going to take things lightly despite the resounding win against Baroda last week," he said. Though Kaif did not elaborate on the team's strengths, he appeared worried about the fielding. The bowling duo of Sudeep Tyagi and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar managed to anchor UP's maiden outright season win despite several crucial dropped catches.
Besides middle-order bat Parvinder Singh, who has so far scored 183 runs from three matches, Bhuvaneshwar (137 runs, 10 wickets, two matches) has done well with both bat and ball. But the rest, including Kaif, will need to work hard to keep team's momentum going.
