Weather remains pleasant in HP

The weather was pleasant in Himachal Pradesh today despite chilly winds in Shimla and in other parts of the state due to a north-westerly dry and cold breeze.

The weather was pleasant in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday despite chilly winds in Shimla and in other parts of the state due to a north-westerly dry and cold breeze.

The 'Queen of the Hills' recorded a minimum of five degrees Celsius in comparison to 3.3 deg C yesterday, the Met office said.

The mercury in other parts of the state also stayed at a comfortable level.

While the minimum temperature in Sundernagar was recorded at 6.0 deg C, it was 5 deg C in Bhuntar, 7.7 deg C in Dharamsala, 3.0 deg C in Una and 7.1 deg C in Mandi, the Met department said.

There was no report of rain or snowfall from anywhere in the hill state.

However, the minimum in the higher reaches continued to remain below zero.

Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahual & Spiti, was the coldest place in the state with the minimum being recorded at minus 8.9 deg C, while it was minus 2.9 deg C in Kalpa in Kinnaur district, the department said.

The Met office has forecast light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in the state on Monday.
