The Oscar winning actress said that she had been captivated by the stage when she had seen Yul Brynner’s performance in the stage version of The King and I.

“I grew up with the smell of greasepaint on me. My dad used to take me to plays all the time. We came to New York when I was seven, and we saw ‘Hair’. I also have vivid memories of seeing Yul Brynner do The King And I in Atlanta,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

Roberts, who has been one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars, made her Broadway theatre debut in Three Days Of Rain earlier this year.
