What’s cooking?
Kitchens are an integral part of home — even for busy celebs.
A way to not only the man’s but everyone’s heart is through his/her stomach, and it can’t be better if the place where you cook food for your loved ones is your favourite haunt too.

HT City takes a peek into the kitchens of some celebs and asks them what makes it one of their favourite hang-out.

I bought a house very recently, so I don’t have a modular kitchen yet, though I want to make it one. Right now, it’s a U-shaped kitchen and very simple, with lot of storage space including my refrigerator and microwave. It’s nothing ostentatious. I spend a lot of time here especially when my parents are away. The ambience is so relaxing that it helps me distress with a recipe book and a concoction of new dishes.
Mugdha Godse, actress
I came to Mumbai from Pune about two years ago. I had saved enough money to buy an apartment in the Andheri (West) suburb of Mumbai. I converted this one bedroom-hall-kitchen flat into a two bedroom-hall-kitchen apartment. The idea of an open kitchen and white flooring in the bedroom was to give the house a more spacious look. Nothing in my house is overdone, particularly the kitchen and I’ve just tried to keep the accessories in the house minimal. Like the wash basin in the kitchen is a brass vessel bought for a mere Rs 500, as I was short of money then.
Rajat Kapoor, actor
I live in the Yari Road locality of Mumbai. My home is an extension of my personality. I love this place. The kitchen, particularly is very open and airy. I do cook occasionally in my kitchen when my friends drop in. So, we all are not just sitting and chatting, instead, we interact in a fun way.
Jaspal Bhatti, comedian
I live in the Lokhandwala Complex in Mumbai. We have done up the house with a lot of wood and glass. I’m not much of a kitchen person, but my wife Savita is a good cook and keeps the kitchen overflowing with delicious Punjabi food items.
Vibha Chhibbar, actress
My present house has been very lucky for me. My career took off with Chak De India after I moved to this flat. I hate cooking everyday, I cook in my kitchen only when I have a day off. However, I love to entertain guests, and that’s quite often. I also love to wash clothes and I am crazy about maintaining my washing machine.
