Will an Indian get speedy justice?

The alacrity with which justice was done in this case is commendable but there are few issues that deserve to be examined with maturity and unbiased prudence. First is had the victim been an Indian girl would she got the same speedy justice? Rajasthan is a hot tourist destination and dollar/euro splurging tourists are just too precious to be lost to such incidents. Right?

Rajasthan is a hot tourist destination and dollar/euro splurging tourists are just too precious to be lost to such incidents which show the state machinery in poor light. An SMS to her friend got the embassy rolling and the accused was rounded up with few days.

Secondly and the more pertinent one, is the question of consent. Can it be conclusively established that the sexual act was not out of consent but forced one. The girl in question was not an Indian but a German where sex is not such a big deal. There is a distinct possibility of consent which later, due to many possible reasons, could have been converted at convenience into a forced assault.

The point is that in haste to show how efficient the law and judiciary are here the investigation may have been shoddy with pre-conceived conclusions forming the basis of it.

Certainly the guilt of the accused could not have been proved without reasonable doubt in such short span had it not been already assumed by most that he is indeed guilty.
