The DMK was in a win-win situation and would form a government on its own in Tamil Nadu after the May 8 assembly elections, party President M Karunanidhi said.
"At present, we are in a win-win situation. We will be able to form our own ministry in the state," Karunanidhi, who completed his second leg of campaign, said on Wednesday.
On Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram's remarks that the DMK's election manifesto had become the "hero" of the campaign, he said "This certificate will help us in future in implementing our poll promises."
Avoiding a direct reply to a question whether AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa's promise of free supply of 10 kg of rice to the ration card holders in the state was feasible, the DMK chief said he always believed in promises, which were implementable and practical. Jayalalithaa's assurance was like catching the wind in net, he said.
On the spate of opinion polls, which gave different predictions, Karunanidhi said he was not a person who campaigned on the basis of opinion polls. Some polls had given the DMK front 140 seats, he pointed out.
Karunanidhi will begin his third leg of campaign from April 27.
