Woman commits suicide; three booked for abetting suicide

A 36-year-old woman today allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at her house in Husseinpur village and three Panchayat members of the village were booked on charge of abetment.

A 36-year-old woman today allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at her house in Husseinpur village and three Panchayat members of the village were booked on charge of abetment.

The deceased has been identified as Surinder Kaur, who according to sources, had written a suicide note, in which,
the woman alleged that she is taking the extreme step due to harassment by three members of the village panchayat, Sarpanch Sokho, Panch Gaga and Kirti.

"When police went to the houses of the trio for conducting a search, they found the premises locked," he said,
adding, "The dead body has been sent to Civil Hospital for postmortem."

A case under Section 306 of the IPC (abetment of suicide) has been registered against them.
