Woman gang-raped in Jhunjhunu
A woman was allegedly gang-raped in Jhunjhunu district following which an FIR has been lodged against two persons, police said.
A woman was allegedly gang-raped in Jhunjhunu district following which an FIR has been lodged against two persons, police said on Monday.
"The incident occurred on Saturday night, when the accused Anil and his accomplice, entered the house of Jaibhagwan, abducted his wife, took her to an isolated area, and raped her," they said.
In the wee hours of Sunday, they dropped her near Mapura village in a "semi-conscious" state and fled, the police said.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection on Sunday.
The accused had also made an unsuccessful attempt to kidnap another woman in a nearby village.
The accused first made an attempt to abduct a woman in Bhuriwas village, but fled after she raised an alarm and her husband Surjeet and other family members woke up.
Later, they targetted another house and victimised the woman, the police said.
An FIR has been lodged by Surjeet in this connection.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the duo and further investigations are on.
