Woman held for harassing ex-lover

A 25-year-old woman from Miraj in Sangli district was produced in a local court on Saturday for allegedly sending fake love letters to her married partner and harassing the partner’s family.

A 25-year-old woman from Miraj in Sangli district was produced in a local court on Saturday for allegedly sending fake love letters to her married partner and harassing the partner’s family.

She has been remanded in custody for two days. Police said she allegedly called her partner’s husband and accused her partner of having pre-marital relationships.

The two women were neighbours and in a relationship for one year. When her partner got married, she tried to break the marriage because of which the accused’s partner had to leave her marital home.

She has been charged for molestation and defamation and making malicious phone calls.
