The victim, Ramsakhi, had reportedly walked upto the hospital's emergency ward of this hospital along with her son for treatment of breathing problem around 6.30 pm on September 17, 2006. However she died around 2 am in the intervening night of September 17/18.

The victim's son who was all along with her mother since the beginning has alleged that his mother died due to the carelessness of the attending doctors who did not even care to administer proper drugs till midnight even though he had brought the recommended drugs from the medical store situated at the hospital gate.

All that the doctor at the ICCU did was to put the patient on oxygen, he said.
The attending doctor even made no attempt to call a senior doctor after the condition of the patient started deteriorating but instead allegedly misbehaved with the patient's kin after he insisted on calling an expert to deal with the situation.

Having lost his mother due to the alleged callousness of the doctor the son went to the police outpost to lodge a case against the erring doctor but was turned away.

Then he went to the Civil Lines police station where he was advised to contact the Kotwali police station. At Kotwali though he was heard but was asked to come next day for lodging the FIR. But this too did not materialise. Unable to bear the grief and shock of having lost his mother in such a cruel manner due to the alleged casual approach of the doctor he has now sought the SSP's help in the matter.

Pushkar who has sent his complaint to HT Allahabad Live through post has informed that his mother who lived in Naini was under the treatment of doctor Rajeev Garg of KGMC Lucknow for the past three years. Meanwhile the news of the death of his maternal grandmother aggravated her breathing trouble.
After talking to his sub-inspector father who is posted in Rae Bareli on phone Pushkar had taken his mother to the emergency ward of the SRN Hospital on the fateful day.

The doctor in the emergency ward carried out a check-up, went through the KGMC prescriptions and then sent the patient to the ICCU where the worst happened. The attending doctor took no pains to go through the KGMC prescriptions and went on to prescribe drugs which were immediately fetched by him.

However, despite this no medicines were administered to the patient till midnight except the oxygen on which the patient was put, alleged Pushkar.
Seeing the patient's husband in police uniform the doctor hurriedly started treating her, alleged Pushkar. But it was too late.

The pulse had already gone erratic and the end was near. Pushkar has alleged that the drugs which had been prescribed did not appear proper. When he sought a senior doctor's telephone number he was not even given the same.
From the ICCU to the emergency ward Pushkar went about trying to seek this senior doctor's telephone number and the residence address but to no avail.
Pushkar has also sent a copy of the complaint to the National Human Rights Commission and PUCL of which he is a member.
