Large number of members of the two bank unions staged a demonstration and raised slogans in front of State Bank of Indore's zonal office. The demonstration was made in demand of providing 33 percent reservation to women in the Parliament and Vidhan Sabha, besides social security against discrimination and wages.

Addressing the gathering, coordinator of the cell, Hemlata Nayak said in the global economic scenario, women have been facing problems like discrimination in service sector, no job security and the percentage of women in unorganized sector has been on a rise. 'Women in jobs are even deprived of maternity benefits and sometimes are forced to leave job,' she alleged.

The members gave a call to women in the unorganized sector to form unions and fight for their legitimate rights.
