Talking to newspersons Joshi said, “Under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, the Congress party is confident of getting the Women’s Reservation Bill passed in Parliament, demanding 33 per cent reservation for women.” She accused non-Congress State Governments for putting impediments in the passage of Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament. Joshi gave all credit to Sonia Gandhi for the passage of Domestic Violence Bill in Parliament.

Commenting on the preparations for the rally of party president Sonia Gandhi, Joshi said, “All preparations for the rally are over and party workers even from the adjoining districts will attend the rally in large numbers.” The Mahila Congress Committee of the city and adjoining districts has convened some 46 meetings for the success of Sonia Gandhi’s rally.

She added that a large number of party workers from Unnao and Fatehpur would come for the rally and arrangements for ferrying party workers to and from the rally site have already been made.

Replying to a query Joshi said, “After the rally, the political landscape of the UP will change forever. Sonia Gandhi’s rally will mark the resurgence of the Congress in the State.”

Hitting out at the State Government, Joshi stated that crime against women had increased in the tenure of the SP Government.

Mahila Congress State president Sudha Rai who was also present on the occasion, asserted that women would attend Sonia Gandhi’s rally in large numbers. “In the coming Vidhan Sabha elections, women will play a major role in bringing the Congress back to power after a gap of 16 years,” added Rai.
Mahila Congress general secretary Saria Khan and State vice president Jagdish Kaur were also present on the occasion.
