A construction worker gets arrested on Thursday on charges of sexually 'torturing and harassing' a 10-year-old daughter of his female colleague for the last two years.

A construction worker was arrested on Thursday on charges of sexually 'torturing and harassing' a 10-year-old daughter of his female colleague for the last two years.

Vijayakumar of Erode and working in Periyanaickenpalayam on the city outskirts, was allegedly having illicit affairs with a female worker for the last six years, since she was deserted by her husband, police said.

Vijayakumar used to make advances to the girl, studying in fifth class now and attempted to sexually torture her for the last two years.

Based on the complaint lodged by the girl's mother, the worker was arrested and remanded to custody.
