Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban will be the host cities of the tournament to be held in September 2007.

"These are world class venues for what will be a world class event. This will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase South African cricket and South Africa to millions of viewers," former South Africa seamer and tournament director Steve Elworthy was quoted as saying by the BBC Sport.

The Wanderers in Johannesburg staged its first Twenty20 international in October last year when New Zealand beat South Africa by five wickets.

However, Newlands (Cape Town) and Kingsmead (Durban) are yet to host any international Twenty20 match.
