Talking to Hindustan Times, Western Region Electricity Distribution Company superintending engineer Ravi Tiwari informed that this year laboratory for transformer quality control was developed in Indore and other companies of the State do not have laboratories for transformer testing.

Transformers were tested for the first time this year at the lab of the company, which resulted in rejection of large number of transformers. Tiwari reasoned that this would help in reducing transformer failure, as poor quality was one of the reasons of transformer failure.
