Indian coach John Wright would join the national squad in Dhaka within the next two days, BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said here on Saturday.

"He will join the team either tomorrow, or the day after," Dalmiya told PTI here.

The contract of Wright had expired with the World Cup final on March 23, but Dalmiya extended his term till May 24 using his discretionary powers in view of the tri-series in Bangladesh.

India, however, played the tournament lung-opener against Bangladesh without the New Zealander, who has not joined the team so far due to his father's demise. Ashok Malhotra has been looking after the job of coach in Wright's absence.

India is slated to take on South Africa in their second match of the tri-series tomorrow.

The cricket board is considering a longer tenure for Wright, but a final decision in this regard would be taken at its Working Committee meeting later this month.
