Xavier Labour Relation Institute (XLRI) has tied up with Reliance Webworld to launch its Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management programme.

Elaborating on the programme, Father N Casimir Raj, director, XLRI, said the tie-up with Reliance Webworld to offer the PGCHRM on the real broadband platform will take the management training expertise of XLRI's faculty to virtual classrooms across the country.

Addressing media-persons here, Sarup Chowdhary, Chief Executive Officer, Reliance Webworld, said in view of the huge gap between supply and demand of quality education in the country, the programme at Reliance Webworld was a testimony of its technological capabilities and reach.

The 14-month long PGCHRM programme would target high- potential mid-career HR managers looking to move up the career ladder and would be available in Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Jamshedpur, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune through Reliance Webworld outlets, he said.

Chowdhary said Reliance's virtual classrooms that use the webworld's state-of-the-art video conferencing facility to reach out to students across locations on a real time basis are as good as real brick and mortar ones.

The students can not only see and hear the professor live as they would do in a real classroom, but they can also interact with him and fellow students at other locations. Those who miss the lecture can later catch up with the video recording on-demand at the webworlds, he said.

This programme was a part of XLRI's larger plans to upskill corporate India by offering premium management programmes right at the doorstep of its managers without hampering their existing jobs, he said.
