In a bid to catch up with rivals Microsoft and Google - Yahoo has given a much-awaited make-over to it's Web e-mail service. The new mail ensures that you never have to leave Yahoo to get your social fix
The new features allow usersto post updates to Facebook and Twitter as well as view photos and videos from Flickr, Picasa and YouTube without ever leaving Yahoo Mail.
"People spend more than 300 billion minutes a month on Yahoo Mail," the BBC quoted Dave McDowell, Yahoo Mail senior product manager, as saying.
Other upgrades to Yahoo's service include improved spam filtering, and tools to search through mail that will help better sort and prioritise messages.
"Yahoo Mail is a critical product for the company with an enormous user base. The challenge for them is to make having a Yahoo Mail address cool,” said Industry analyst Greg Sterling, of Sterling Market Intelligence. "I think if Yahoo Mail performs well, they will win people over.”
Yahoo! Mail even better than before by streamlining the entire look and adding new functionality to provide a better email experience.

All of the useful/productive applications you're used to using have now been nicely organised in the bottom left hand side.
* Calendar and Notepad now grouped with Applications
We've tucked some of our favourite Yahoo! applications under the new Application Box.
* Message size column turned off
To clean up your inbox, we've removed the message size column. If this is important to you, just do the following to enable the size column again:
1. Click on the View button at the top right of the page.
2. From the drop down menu, under "Show:" select "Size Column"
* Refreshed colour options
