YC to strengthen party in villages
IN THE wake of the next Assembly polls in the State, the State unit of the All India Youth Congress (AIYC), has launched a month-long campaign to strengthen the organisations at the city and village panchayat levels, said national general secretary of AIYC and in charge of organisation affairs for UP, Kamleshwar Patel.

“The campaign has been launched from Allahabad on Sunday with a review of organisational activities in city and rural areas. During the review meeting, emphasis is being given to find out whether ward level organisation in city areas and on panchayat level in rural areas, have been ensured by the city and district presidents or not?” Patel said.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, Patel and national secretary of AIYC, Yogita Nadulker said jointly that all those, district and city presidents who had not formed the ward and panchayat level committees of organisation yet, had been directed to do so within 15 days, failing which, they would be dropped from their posts.
The duo added the youth Congress was fully committed to associate the youths in a large number with the organisation as per wish of the most popular leader of youths in the country, Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking about the organisational activities of UP state, they said, first of all, the one-month long campaign to strengthen the organisation, it would end on June 14. Later, in July, a block level workers convention would be held throughout the state.
In August, demonstration over local issues, would be held in each block of the state. A meeting of block level presidents of Varanasi division, would be held on May 29 here to review the progress of organisation in rural areas. In response to a query over the participation of women in the organisation, the female national office-bearer said efforts were being made to ensure at least 33 per cent women office-bearers in the organisation.
