He expressed shock that the MP was staging dharna against the drive and creating hindrance in the development of the city.
Rai was delivering his views at a programme at the municipal corporation hall on Thursday.
He even said that without proper development of the city, eastern UP couldn’t transform into Uttam Pradesh. Rai, who is also party in-charge of Gorakhpur division, directed municipal corporation officials to change their attitude and ensure basic amenities for people.
He said when other municipal corporations were busy in improving the infrastructure and basic facilities, Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation was facing hardships in implementing schemes due to unwanted interference by the people’s representatives.
State Minister for Agriculture Jaiprakash Yadav enumerated various policies launched by the State government for the welfare of common people and said the leaders of Opposition parties had no issue to corner the government.
Yadav appealed to the minister for Urban Development to consider the demands of the employees sympathetically. SP MLC Ganesh Shanker Pandey also expressed his views on this occasion and appealed to the corporation employees to work hard to gain people’s confidence.
Earlier, Narad Rai and Jaiprakash Yadav addressed a press conference at Circuit House and highlighted the achievements of the state government in its three-year tenure.
At another press conference, former MLC of SP Devendra Pratap Singh said the three-year tenure of SP would be remembered as the era of development in the State history.
He claimed that people of the State wanted development and transparency and SP would form the next government with support of people.
