A YOUTH was murdered and buried by the killers in their own house in Talkatora a month back. The motive: An illicit relationship.
The police dug out the body after arresting the accused, following a tip-off, this Sunday.
Meanwhile, a teenager, who was released on bail in a murder case, was shot dead by rivals in Hazratganj on Sunday morning. Taking note of the incident, SSP Dr GK Goswami suspended a sub-inspector (S-I) and two constables for dereliction in duty.
In the first incident, the Talkatora police quizzed Anil Lodhi of Para locality following a tip-off that he had killed his friend Banshilal Rawat of the same locality. Rawat (28) had been missing since he had left home for Anil’s place on May 12. Anil confessed to having killed Rawat with help from his brothers and their wives around 11 pm on May 12. Anil said Rawat was a frequent visitor to his house as he was a partner in their business for supplying lights and decoration for various functions. Anil said his family was incensed by Rawat’s affair with Anil’s sister-in-law. On May 12, the family got agitated when Rawat was found scaling a wall to meet his paramour. They killed him, buried him in a room and got the floor re-constructed.
In another incident, Amit Kumar of Jiamau locality told the Hazratganj police about the murder of his brother Sonu (20). Amit alleged that Kallu Yadav and his brothers Prabhu and Puran of the same locality took Sonu to their house and shot him around 9 am. Amit further said that the assailants threw Sonu from their terrace after shooting at him and fled the scene. Sonu was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.
The cops revealed that Sonu had been jailed for killing Kallu’s brother Shambhu on June 17 last year.
Sonu was named in the case along with seven others who were also sent to jail then. Kallu and his brothers had murdered Sonu on Sunday to settle scores because of that enmity, the cops said.
