Zeliang pledges to work for Naga cause

State Geology and Mining Minister T R Zeliang said he would try his best to bring to a successful end the on-going Naga peace talks.

State Geology and Mining Minister T R Zeliang, who has been elected to the Rajya Sabha as the consensus candidate of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland, today said he would try his best to bring to a successful end the on-going Naga peace talks.

Zeliang, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha yesterday, told reporters here that his priority would be for an early solution to the Naga political problem and development activities in the state.

The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, said that he was happy with the outcome of the Rajya Sabha election and thanked the DAN coalition partners and independent MLAs for electing Zeliang.
