The accused, Hridyesh, a resident of Guna, previously used to work for retired IAS officer DY Manawwar, residents of Manish Puir, but was fired following his drinking problem.
On Monday morning, the staff at the bungalow of Manawwar had filed a missing complaint with Palasia police station after they couldn’t find Manawwar’s wife Fay, 75.
The police swung into action and retrieved the CCTV footage from a nearby building. Later, the staff of the bungalow identified the accused in the footage.
Police arrested Hridyesh and he confessed about the crime during interrogation, the police said. According to Hridyesh’s statement, he went to Manawwar’s bungalow on Sunday to borrow money from Fay but she had refused.
He got angry on this, and in rage killed her and dumped the body in her car in Ralamandal. At the time of the incident the IAS officer, who is bed-ridden, was in another room.
On Monday evening, the deceased's body and the car were recovered from two different places. A case under different sections of IPC was registered against the accused and more investigation is going on.
