Indore police solve eight loot cases, seven in net

With the arrest of seven persons, Indore police claimed to have cracked eight loot cases including recent unsuccessful loot attempt by two masked robbers outside Polo Ground situated State Bank of India.

With the arrest of seven persons, Indore police claimed to have cracked eight loot cases including recent unsuccessful loot attempt by two masked robbers outside Polo Ground situated State Bank of India, SME branch. Among those arrested include car driver of SBI branch manager.

On November 14, two masked robbers tried to snatch bag containing `9 lakh from one Vinod, 33, an employee with Rajpal Abhikaran Private Ltd, on gunpoint but their attempt was foiled by three courageous persons including one soldier-turned-security guard, a home-guard commandant and a traffic cop.

The arrested were identified as Gouri alias Sayyed Irfan (24), Chottu alias Shahbaz (24), both from Azad Nagar, Indore, Bunty alias Roshan (28), from Udaipur, Rambeer alias Ram Singh, resident of Pandharinath, Indore, Rashid, resident of Noori Colony, Indore, Ikram Khan, resident of Kohinoor Nagar, Indore and Rikku alias Rakesh Sen, resident of Juni Indore, Indore. Eighth member of gang identified as Firoz, resident of Azad Nagar, Indore is still out of police reach and police have launched manhunt.

Briefing media persons, deputy inspector general of police (DIG) Rakesh Gupta said after recent Polo Ground loot attempt under Banganga police station limit, a team from respective police station began investigation into the matter.

During course of investigation, team got certain evidences and tip-off and acting to the basis of that, police nabbed Gouri, car driver of SBI branch manager.

Police also came to know that Gouri is a neigbourer of Firoz residing in Azad Nagar and has criminal background.

During interrogation, Gouri revealed name of Chottu as person to whom he provide information about bank customers who either deposit or withdraw big amount from bank as Chottu asked him for the same.

After Chottu’s arrest, he informed police that first he decided to rob Vinod with the help of his gang, but failed in his attempt. Later he handed over work to Firoz and his gang members.

In police lock-up, Chottu and Gouri named Bunty alias Rosha, resident of Udaipur, who was involved in several loot cases. Duo informed that Bunty was in Indore on Friday night and moving to Udaipur via Ujjain in bus. Banganga police team arrested Bunty before he could move out of city.

Police also arrested Chottu’s other gang members including Rambeer, Rashid, Ikram and Rikku from different part of city.

During interrogation, accused confessed their involvement in eight loot and bag snatching incident during last few months in several part of the city under various police stations.
