The raid was conducted at the house of Ramesh Chandra Jaiswal, a constable with the excise department. The Lokayukta sleuths took action on the basis of tip-off against Jaiswal.

During the raid, the Lokayukta sleuths recovered documents pertaining to residential plots, hotel, share in liquor shops, four luxury cards and as many two-wheelers apart from documents of investments in different banks.

"After preliminary assessment of the assets owned by him, it has been ascertained that the market value of the assets including a house in Sudama Nagar, another house in Bhakt Prahlad Nagar and a hotel, are grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income", said a Lokayukta official.

Also, the lokayukta sleuths have found that Jaiswal also has share in farmhouses and hotels. Jaiswal who is currently posted in Barwah town in Khargone district, had joined the service in 1981. Later, he went to excise department on deputation.

"The evaluation of his wealth is underway", Lokayukta police town inspector (TI) Yuvraj Singh Chouhan said.
