According to police sources, Gurjar told the police that he was under the strict instruction not to let the dumper be seized by the police at any cost and therefore he accelerated the speed of the dumper where Chauhan challenged him and asked to stop the vehicle. In this chase, the constable got killed.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, additional superintendent of police RS Bhadoriya said, "Gurjar was arrested from Dangbasai area of Dhaulpur, Rajasthan, with cleaner Purab Singh Gurjar."

Dumper owner Ram Lakhan Singh Gurjar was arrested on Wednesday.

Superintendent of police Navneet Bhasin said, "The task force is nabbing sand mafias. Police are also registering cases under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the owners of fields, who have given space to illegal miners to dump the sand."
