“Pace is the most important thing. That is the one thing that I have had throughout my whole career. I am turning 33 this year and I am still bowling 145-150 km per hour. It is something you cannot get rid of. It is something which you cannot coach. You are born with it,” said Steyn in an exclusive interview to ANI.
The right-handed bowler, who has taken a staggering 406 Test wickets till now, also said that his new Indian Premier League franchise Gujarat Lions have got the players and potential to grab the title in their maiden attempt.
“We are playing extremely well. We are just taking game by game. I am really enjoying my time here. It is my ninth IPL. I have never won the IPL, so it will be fantastic to go and win it even if I am doing it on from the bench,” he added.
Lions are second in the points table with four wins and one defeat in the tournament and will play their next match against Delhi Daredevils.
