A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three people while she had gone out to attend a call of nature in a field in Chaku tehsil late on Saturday night.

An FIR was lodged by the victim at the Kotkhawda police station on Monday morning. “In the FIR, the girl has mentioned that she was abducted by three persons when she had gone out to defecate in a field near her house and was later raped by them,” said Kanhaiya Lal, the station house officer (SHO) of Kotkhawda police station. The minor was allegedly also beaten up by the accused.

“After raping her, the trio fled the spot and are absconding,” Lal said. “We have registered a case under the Pocso Act and section 376 of Indian Penal Code. The girl has also named one person, identified as Haroon, who belongs to a nearby village, in the FIR. We have also sent a team to catch the trio,” Lal added.

The medical examination of the victim was done on Monday and her statement recorded in front of the judicial magistrate, the SHO said.
