Two sons of a Rajasthan minister of the ruling BJP have been booked for allegedly abducting and beating up a man in Alwar on Wednesday after he was found standing near people abusing the minister a day earlier.

In a complaint, the victim said the Bhadana brothers along with 10–12 others barged into his room and attacked his head with a sword. They pointed a gun to his chest and took him in an SUV to their house in Veer Savarkar Nagar where they thrashed him.(Shutterstock/Representative image)

The elder son Surendra was an accused in an eve-teasing case in 2014 but was acquitted during the course of police investigation.

The victim, Tej Singh Yadav, was taken to Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital but shifted to a private hospital as doctors at the government hospital were on strike.

A student of law, Tej is a native of Shahpur village and was living in a rented room in Shivaji Park area.

In a complaint, he said the Bhadana brothers along with 10–12 others barged into his room and attacked his head with a sword. They pointed a gun to his chest and took him in an SUV to their house in Veer Savarkar Nagar where they thrashed him.

Minister Bhadana, an MLA from Alwar’s Thanagazi constituency and in-charge of Rajasthan State Motor Garage, General Administration and Estates in the Rajasthan government, was not reachable for comments immediately.

In a video, the victim’s father Satish Yadav is heard saying that some persons had hurled abuses at the minister a day before and his son was also standing there. “They (minister’s sons) noted the number of my son’s motorcycle and reached his room. They hit him repeatedly and asked names of those who had hurled abuses,” he said.

Satish told police that when he received the information, he rushed to the minister’s house and rescued his badly injured son, Shivaji Park SHO Vinod Sawriya said.

“Even while I was taking him, they (the minister’s sons) threatened us to go straight to home. They said they were minister’s sons and would kill us if we did otherwise,” said Satish.

In another video, Tej, unable to open his eyes, is heard saying that he did not know why he was targeted. “They hit me with a rod. I became unconscious and did not know what they did to me. They tied me up with wires,” he said.

He has also stated in the complaint that he and his family were facing threat to life from Bhadana and his sons.
