Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday asked officers of the state government to make optimum use of available resources instead of giving excuses in order to ensure good governance. She also stressed on innovation and adopting technology to focus on delivering results with resources available.
“Our government has been successful in delivering good governance to people and the officers should make extra efforts to further it. People’s satisfaction is the best parameter of good governance,” Raje said at the inaugural ceremony of a two-day Collector-SP conference here.
“The officers should not leave any scope of communication gap with the public. They should not only be good speakers, but also good listeners. Only then the commoners would reach out to them with their grievances,” she said
The CM asked the district collectors to identify talented officers and other staff and utilise them for “sensitive and effective governance”. She said that the innovative practices and new initiatives should be shared with the chief secretary so that they could be replicated in other districts.
Raje said that young officers who were well-versed with the use of technology alongwith the senior officers, who are experienced, can help extend the good governance to the public. She urged the collectors to be receptive to new ideas and think out of box.
The CM said that as per the parameters set during the last Collector-SP conference in 2016, Chittorgarh, Hanumangarh, Pali, Ajmer and Bhilwara were the top five districts in the state in successfully implementing schemes and programmes of the state and the Central governments.
Earlier, chief secretary OP Meena too addressed the officials. State ministers, parliamentary secretaries, and senior officials from different departments are participating in the conference.
