"We welcome Mamata Banerjee's statement concerning Narendra Modi. But we feel that Modi and BJP are not two separate entities. Modi is the product of religious fanaticism of BJP," West Bengal Congress general-secretary Manas Bhuiyan told reporters here.

"Condemning Modi but staying in NDA is double-standard," Bhuiyan said.

He said the TC chief should step out of NDA and help form a secular and democratic alliance with Congress to take on the CPI(M) in the state.

"Mamata wants to forms a secular front, so does the Congress. She should come out of NDA. We are ready to make any sacrifice. If she wants she can lead the proposed front," Bhuiyan who is also Congress Legislative Party leader said.

Stopping short of congratulating Narendra Modi on his impressive victory in Gujarat, NDA-ally Banerjee had yesterday said that she was opposed to his brand of politics.
