"Das scored zero in the viva of Ophthalmology examination and was depressed. Apparently this might be the possible reason for his suicide," Joint Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Jawed Shamim said.

Das, a resident of Dhakuria in South Kolkata, did not stay at the hostel but went to visit a friend. He leapt to his death when his friend was sleeping.
