Youth commits suicide fearing layoff
Fearing that he would be laid off because his IT company was handing out pink slips, a young man who joined as a trainee took his own life. The body of Abhijit Mukherjee, a resident of Shibpur in Howrah district, was brought back home on Friday after he committed suicide in Mysore on April 15, the police said.

Fearing that he would be laid off because his IT company was handing out pink slips, a young man who joined as a trainee took his own life.
The body of Abhijit Mukherjee, a resident of Shibpur in Howrah district, was brought back home on Friday after he committed suicide in Mysore on April 15, the police said.
In a suicide note, Abhijit who is a BE from Meghnath Saha Technical College and joined the firm just a year ago as a trainee, said that as his company was giving pink slips because of the global slowdown he could not stand it and was taking his own life.
Abhijit's father, Ashis Mukherjee, who works in a private company said "He could have returned home."
