Stand-up comics are known to mostly have people in splits by making jokes on themselves, or more frequently, their front-row audience and famous personalities. However, tonight, Vir Das and his band of comedians will tickle your funny bone by playing characters they have created. Called Lose Yourself, the show will be hosted by the Comedy Store at BlueFrog, Lower Parel.

Talking about the show, Das explains, “The idea is to bring together a big group of comics across board, some who have just started out and others who have been doing this for years. The difference is that when we perform otherwise, we perform as ourselves. But during the show tonight, all of us will fit into the shoes of different characters with their own quirks. Some of them are impersonations of real people we know, while others are just a figment of our imagination”

Das will be essaying many characters on the show, including that of a Swamiji, a newsreader and an oddity he calls, Bipolar Das. “He is someone who can go from sounding happy to angry in the same sentence,” says Vir.

The show will also feature other prominent comics from the city such as Vikram Sathaye, Ashwin Mushran, Anu Menon, Abish Mathews, Sahib Birla, Kavi Shastri and Aditi Mittal.
