The BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) roll-out for Android and iOS phones that resumed on October 21 has left users fuming. As per the phased system, users who signed up for email notifications about BBM messenger back in September were first in line to get access to the app. Others had to wait in line for the instant messaging service to start functioning on devices.

The company adopted this approach after unprecedented glitches stalled the launch of the service last time. As per the new system, users have been asked to fill in their email IDs upon installing the app. They can proceed only if they are first in line.

However, this method has been panned by users, who took to Twitter to express their outrage. One of the angry users, @TazHajri tweets, “I’ve been waiting for over 12 hours now for my bbm to work (sic).”@Bbarron26 tweets, “If bbm doesn’t email me soon, i might just have to email them (sic)!” while @DeanoFlorence posts, “Still waiting for an email to activate bbm, am i a mug (sic)?”

According to @BBM, more than 10 million downloads took place in the first 24 hours. Their last tweet at the time of going to press: “Lineup moving well. Another 500k people just reached the front of the line! We'll email you when it's your turn #BBM4ALL (sic) .”
