Lalu Prasad being treated worse than PoWs in Pak jails, alleges Tejashwi

Bihar’s Opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Monday alleged that his father and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad was being treated worse than of prisoners of war in Pakistani jails.
In a joint media briefing along with leaders of the Grand Alliance (GA) at RJD office, Tejashwi alleged that the RJD chief was being meted out inhuman treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi at the behest of the Jharkhand government.
“Prasad is suffering from serious health complications, yet he is allowed to be not taken in other section of the hospital for diagnostic test,” the RJD leader alleged.
He alleged that the jail administration imposed a ban on weekly meeting of Prasad with family members and others in the prisoners’ ward of RIMS at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and deputy CM Sushil Modi. “The court’s order clearly stipulated that he could meet family members and others once in a week,” said Tejashwi.
A couple of days ago, former CM and Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi said she feared threat to her husband’s life in RIMS and threatened that people might take to the streets if anything untoward happened with him.
Taking a swipe at the electioneering of JD(U), Tejashwi sought to know the reasons why the party has not yet issued its poll manifesto even as half phases of the elections are set to over Tuesday. “JD(U) is perhaps the single party in the Lok Sabha fray, which so far could not release its election promise,” said Tejashwi.
The RJD leader also flayed Nitish Kumar for not raising the demand for special status to Bihar, for which the later had sent a memorandum to the Centre signed by over one crore people. He dismissed the total prohibition as a political stunt, saying that liquor was being delivered at homes.
Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Madan Mohan Jha said that the Modi government had utterly failed on all fronts to deliver against its promises, be it on employment, welfare of farmers or revival of the manufacturing sector. “On the other hand, Congress governments in the three states, Madhya Pradesh, Rajsthan and Chattisgarh, fulfilled the promised Rahul Gandhi had given to the people there,” said Jha.
Former CM and Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular president Jitan Ram Manjhi alleged that the BJP-led government has failed to usher in development and prosperity to the nation. “The BJP is now seeking voters’ support by whipping up emotion.’
Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwala lambasted the Modi government for conspiring to end the reservation facility for deprived sections. “The government has failed to ensure quota of reservation in the senior judiciary and the Central Universities during its five year stint,” said Kushwaha.
