Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Sanjay Kakade still with BJP, says Gogawale in Pune
The party has not received any official communication from him about joining the Congress, he says
Yogesh Gogawale, president, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) city unit, on Wednesday said that member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Kakade is still with the party, days after the Rajya Sabha MP had announced his plans to join the Congress.
Gogawale said that the party has not received any official communication from him about joining the Congress.
Speaking about party’s preparedness ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Gogawale said that the party has submitted a list of aspiring candidates for the Pune Lok Sabha seat to the state unit.
When asked about Kakade, the BJP city unit chief, said, “Kakade is still with the party. The city unit has not received any official communication.” Gogawale’s remarks comes a day after Kakade met chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Gogawale also expressed his willingness to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Gogawale said that the party had appointed a management committee to campaign for the elections and had allotted responsibilities to persons concerned.
A total of 1,810 booth heads have been appointed and at least 19,450 workers would work at the booth-level, said the city unit president.
